The current lockdown is highlighting and exacerbating the digital divide in the UK.
Those who cannot afford fixed term contracts for mobile data or WiFi in their homes are being hit the hardest by expensive pay-as-you go tariffs. Many are finding themselves unable to access the support they need from food banks or pharmacies. Vulnerable groups such as elderly people, asylum seekers and refugees and households living in poverty are the worst affected.
