Lockdown, digital inclusion or exclusion? An analysis of the situation in France

This blog post from the EPALE platform describes the digital gap that emerged between the various sectors of society in France during the lockdown period.

Solutions were set up to guarantee that the citizens in formal education, VET & apprenticeship, and those involved in other types of informal educational initiatives promoted by cultural associations could remain in contact with their schools or training providers. However those living in disadvantaged rural areas encountered difficulty in getting access to digital tecnology.

This brought to light the need to tackle the risk of exclusion when planning digital learning and training initiatives.
