The Pandemic impact on equity in tertiary education
In an article appeared in the World Bank blog, the challenge higher education is currently facing is described in depth: the spread of the COVID-19 has had three main implications: i) students going back home from one day to the next, being uprooted literally; ii) most students most probably not going back, at all, due to socio-economic issues; iii) distance education as a risky and not equity-friendly solution for vulnerable groups of students, coming from areas of the world where technological infrastructure is extremely poor.
