Abstract
More than 90 % of today’s jobs require some form of digital competence. In addition, 37 % of employees do not have any digital skills, which has a negative impact on the productivity of companies. Since late 2017, we have started to certificate digital competences with an in-person, computer-assisted exam through an online platform that we have developed called Tucerticyl (www.tucerticyl.es). The certification is an official exam based on the DigComp framework (the European framework of digital competence). Currently, we certificate on basic and intermediate digital competences. The objective of the certification is to provide an official proof of the knowledge and skills that a citizen has in the use of technologies. The exams generated by the certification platform have different questions, simulations and challenges that involve using applications and tools in a practical way (Demo of the exam). Tucerticyl is the first open-source digital competence certification tool developed in Europe. The digital resource product consists of the software platform for certification and a database containing over 1,400 questions.
