Sirius Hub – Digital for social impact
Creating social opportunities for digitally de-skilled public
Abstract
Founded in 2017 with the support Sirius Hub brings together two centres: Sirius School, which offers digital training, and Sirius Coop, a digital social economy agency. These two pillars of the same project revolve around enhancing the digital skills of migrants and creating professional opportunities for a socially de-skilled public.
Sirius School is dedicated to training in web development (front-end, back-end and web design) and digital creation (web design, graphic design, digital marketing, content creation, visual communication…). Its singularity is to bring together people who would never have met outside of our training courses (people of Belgian or foreign origin, asylum seekers, job seekers or digital enthusiasts).
In a rapidly changing world, digital technology is omnipresent today and represents an exceptional professional opportunity. Sirius School therefore offers free training in the digital field, the acquisition of new technical skills and thus the opportunity to make the most of these skills on the job market. As part of a truly ambitious creative process, Sirius School also promotes entrepreneurship by focusing on the prospects of the social economy.
Sirius Coop is a digital cooperative in Liège formed by and for Sirius School students, which supports non-profit organisations and companies in developing their digital visibility. Launched in 2018, Sirius Coop is a project of socio-professional inclusion through digital technology that allows (re)putting precarious and/or isolated people in the labour market through the creation of digital solutions. The Sirius Cooperative is developing a working structure combining inclusion and web solutions.
